When it comes to sweet treats, it doesn't get much simpler than a sugar cookie. But this basic biscuit is also incredibly versatile, which is what makes sugar cookies so much fun.

I'm surprised National Sugar Cookie day isn't in the wintertime near holiday season. Or at least, at a time when it's not too freaking hot to bake...That reminds me of a newspaper article a couple of years ago about a woman in New Hampshire who, during the summer, baked cookies on her dashboard in the office parking lot for afternoon snacks.
