I'm planning to become a vegetarian soon. I'm reading about it on the internet so I can do it right and stay healthy. In the meantime I try to not eat that much meat.
I've been a vegetarian for almost a year.I love it.Hopefully in the coming years I would like to be vegan.
i was vegetarian for like 15 years. I recently started eating everything. I don't eat beef at all.
vegetarian: i don't eat meat anymore (since 1 month even though i LOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEEEEEE meat, really this is hard for me :)) but i still have to eat fish of my fosterparents but as soon as i turn 18 OR if i have the opportunity to live alone (when you live with other people you have to give in a bit) i'm not going to eat diary (milk an cheese, don't know if i wrote diary wrong or right :D) eggs, fish... more of a vegan then. grtz
All lives are precious! I have been a vegetarian since 1984. I was 11 y.o when I realised where meat really came from! My new years resolution for 1984, was to never eat any type of meat or eggs again. Animals are innocent and have a soul too. It turns my stomach thinking about eating meat! I get really mad at people that say,"I'm a vegetarian, but I eat fish and chicken". Why is the life of a fish or chicken less important than, say, a cow or a sheep? I am bordering on being a vegan, avoiding dairy products wherever possible. I have pet chickens, but I feed the eggs to the dogs. Yuck! I have not missed the taste of meat at all, even the fake meat alternative products taste too much like meat for my likeing! A true vegetarian/vegan will also not eat anything that contains any animal derived products, such as geletine. Companies disguise these additives with numbers, check it out, it will suprise you! I will admit it is a pain in the bum when you want to eat out, unless I have prepaired it myself, I won't eat it. I have seperate cooking utensils, cutlery, plates ect.. for myself that are for veggies only! People that say they love animals, but eat them, really get me fired up! If you really loved animals, the decision to go vegetarian should not be a hard one! MEAT IS MURDER!!!
I've been vegetarian for 14 1/2 yrs :) If you do it right it's the healthiest way to eat. I get my blood tested every couple years and have never been vitamin deficient. I do occassionally eat some organic free-run eggs or organic milk, but usually I stick to rice milk in my cereal. When you're a veggie who eats milk and eggs you're a lacto-ovo vegetarian. It's a less restrictive way to be a vegetarian. I don't wear leather/fur/feathers or other animal products either, so I guess I'm half way between a veggie and a vegan.
I am not a vegetarian, I eat everything, but I don't think that meat is essential every day, so I eat meat or fish maybe 3 times a week, maybe even less often.
i was a vegetarian for about six months, but i didn't have the ability to do it right so i got very very sick...
not at all.
I'm careful enough with my diet without removing even more things I love. Meat and poultry stay!
I could never be a vegetarian let alone a vegan..
I didn't eat any meat for a long time (4 years) but now I eat fish and some chicken/turkey but I don't really like it so I tend to stay away. I do eat dairy/eggs.
julieulie, I have an understanding with my honey, if he wants to eat meat, then he will go out and get it and make it himself (but in the 8.5 years that we have been living together he never has (by his choice), in fact he is healthier and more energetic now than he was when I met him and he had an almost all meat diet).
I'll eat fish, eggs, and dairy, but nothing with any other derived animal product (8 years now). The easiest way is by eating Kosher foods -- for example, Kosher yogurts and marshmallows never contain gelatin, unlike some regular yogurts and almost all regular marshmallows. Even though I don't eat non-fish meat, I get stuck cooking it almost every night for my boyfriend. He keeps threatening (jokingly) that he's not going to give me my engagement ring officially until I start eating meat...
I was a vegetarian for about a year in high school. it was though to be with all my friends always eating and talking about meat. I am impressed by all those who are and have the good will power.
I'm a meat eater but draw the line at "babies"- veal, lamb, etc. I also stay away from the "goodies" like kidneys, etc. Just plain old grown-up meat is fine with me. BaltimoreGal
I became vegetarian until pretty recently!
i was vegetarian for a long time, vegan for a little bit in college and now i'm a happy flexatarian. organic meat, milk and eggs are expensive so i eat them sparingly. it's not worth it to me to go back on my morals and support factory farms.
No red meat for nine years, no chicken, fish etc for eight years! It was hard for a couple years, but when I look at meat now, my brain doesn't even register it as food. I might go back to eating fish and chicken someday when I decide to have children, but that is far away in the future.
I really just don't like me....it doesn't look appetizing. I love fish, and every once in a while a sandwich, steak, or Thanksgiving comes up, but other than that I just really don't like it. **“In my mind, I’ve always been an A-list Hollywood superstar. Y’all just didn’t know yet.” -Will Smith **
While I eat/love lots of fresh veggies a place in my heart will always belong to red meat as well as poultry. I've tried eliminating the meat for awhile, I didn't mind it but I craved the elements of my diet that I was lacking.
I could never go veg. I love my Red meat way too much, nice and pink on the inside... mmm yeah
:rotfl: DRC! I'm Veggie. Have been since about the age of 7.
Ever since I was a little girl I was not a big meat eater, for some reason I just did not like it, most of the time I eat vegetarian unless I go out in which case I'll eat chicken or fish.
I was a vegetarian for 2 years, but then I started working crazy hours and I didn't have time to put thought into and prepare healthful, balanced meals without meat. I only eat fish and chicken now. I was never a big red meat eater, so it was easy to stay away from that.
