Yum's February Must Haves

Feb 1 2011 - 1:11pm

Phew, hard to believe that Wintery January is already behind us! We don't know about you, but we're excited for February. With the Super Bowl, Valentine's Day, and the Oscars, there are plenty of reasons to cook good food and celebrate with loved ones. At the start of each month, we like to highlight the products we are currently obsessed with. Here are our must haves for the next 28 days.

Encanto Pisco

Feb. 5 is Pisco Sour Day, and since we're huge fans of this delightful concoction [1], we'll be shaking up a cocktail or two with Encanto [2] ($36), our favorite pisco. This all-natural, hand-blended spirit is smooth and luscious. It's a must-try for all cocktail enthusiasts!

Nuance Portable Wine Finer

Although we'd love to purchase a fancy decanter, living in a big city means a small kitchen, and we simply don't have room for this wine tool. However, we do have space in our drawers for this fabulous little gadget: it's a portable wine finer [3] ($30). You insert the aerator into any bottle of wine and the liquid flows through 32 aeration vents. Cool, right?!

Food Network's South Beach Wine and Food Festival

Spring break for foodies? We're there! If you can find the time and funds for a sunny escape, there's no better destination than South Beach, FL, for the 10th annual South Beach Wine and Food Festival [4], which runs from Feb. 24-27. We'll be there and can't wait to check out Rachael Ray [5]'s Burger Bash, Bobby Flay [6]'s BubbleQ, the fun chef's demonstrations, and much more!

Fauchon Chocolates

No Valentine's Day is complete without a decadent box of chocolates. We're crazy for Parisian brand Fauchon's fashionable bite-sized treats [7] (25 pieces for $58). They come in classic (coffee, caramel) and unusual (lime ganache, hazelnut coconut praline) flavors and are packaged in a stylish little black box.

Rectangular Serving Platter

Entertaining is always on our agenda, so we regularly like to update our collection of serving ware. This month we're investing in a white rectangular platter [8] ($70) that's perfect for scrumptious sliders on game day or dainty canapes on Oscar night.
