I used to make butter at school too, I'd take some milk to school in a jar on the back of my bicycle and some days it was butter by the time I got there. Haven't done it since, but This article set me to thinking... Why don't I buy some big tubs of cream if I see them on reduced-to-clear in the supermarket and get beating!

I love homemade butter. I haven't made that in ages, I ought to do it tonight since I have some cream in the fridge. Instead of beating it though, I put it in a mason jar and shake it while I watch TV.

I rememeber making butter in elementry school when learning about pioneer days! Everyone would take a turn shaking the mason jar full of cream until it all clumped up! What a great(and slightly insane) thing to do with kids! :)
