I do it exactly how lynne just described it, and she's right...a sharp knife is imperative!! I love pineapple!

I actually cut mine differently, so this was a different approach but similar. I first have to say that a good sharp knife is most important. I cut the top and bottom off (don't bother twisting the leaves off), then cut it in half length-wise. Then I take those two halves and cut them each in half length-wise. I hold them upright and slice down to cut off the core. From there, I cut each quarter in half width-wise. I hold the piece in the palm of my hand and cut across the rind. From there I cut the soft fruit into chuncks and enjoy!

I have one of these waiting for me on my counter at home. It was a dollar cheaper if I'd just cut it myself.. and I think you get more fruit out of it that way anyways.. maybe I'll cut that up tonight!

I went through the show expecting to see something totally different, but this is exactly how I cut pineapples too (minus the first step, no need). I feel so vindicated.

Nice article. I know that most people have no idea how to cut one up.

As a former produce assassin, I def. endorse this method. (Except the first step, which can be skipped.)

I thought it would be a lot more complicated than that. Thanks for the tutorial, pineapples are intimidating.

No offense, but that seriously needed explaining? What's next? How to peel carrots?
