you people miss the point. all of your comments are probably the reasons for her wearing this dress. she is a fashion icon, but because of her anti-fashion, more or less. what do you want, her to wear a simple black dress? sure it's classic, but everyone does it. this is her trademark. the point that people post on messageboards about her clothes, shows that people pay attention. and yeah, it's unconventional but that's partly what it's all about.

fashion is stupid. style is important. it's stupid for people to tell you what to wear and what not to wear. it's even more stupid for people to listen to them. the people that become icons are the people that have personal style. personal style becomes synonymous with people and a certain era and time and place. and that is where trends are born and classics are made.

people that wear what is "in" are boring and cannot think for themselves.

Ahhh another brainwashee. She always--ALWAYS--looks terrible. "Style" is not throwing on the most random, unflattering, and disparate items you come across. Style is have a cohesive look that is all your own. I'm sorry, but Bedhead and Really Ugly Clothes do not make someone a style icon.
