Affordable Upholstered Slipper Chairs From Target

Su Casa: Shopping For Budget Slipper Chairs

Here's a post from CasaSugar Community member DIYwithADD from the Su Casa group:

Now that our renovation is finished, I'm on the hunt for some great textiles and upholstery to infuse color and texture into our home. But I'm also on a very tight budget. I'll be sharing some of the bargains I come across along the way on my blog, diywithadd. These vibrant slipper chairs at Target are a pretty good buy at $300. Actually, that's the best price I've seen anywhere. I don't know how good the quality of these chairs is, but they certainly give a lot of fabric bang for the buck. What about you? Have you found other sources for inexpensive and modern upholstered chairs? Well, don't keep them to yourself! Please share your sources in the comments and I'll add them to a future post on diywithadd. Happy bargain hunting, ADD

I have 2 of the red version in my house and get nothing but compliments on them-- people can't believe they are from Target! I use them as accents, rather than everyday seating, but have found them to be comfy, durable and stylish. Tip on buying, purchase when Target has free shipping and 15% off of home purchases over $125-- I was able to buy them for less than retail, including tax and shipping this way.

I've been shopping around for new living room furniture and I spotted that Target slipper chair. I bought the blue ikat print and the quality is very nice. I also found a nice sofa and ottoman at JC Penney. They are on order. I don't really think there is any need to pay a fortune for furniture, especially if you live alone or have no children. (I might post pictures after I've finished decorating. Right now, it's so ungodly hot here that I don't feel like doing much of anything, especially when my AC was broken for most of July.)

I saw the Pier 1 Addyson chair in person in a store, and I could not belieeeve the difference between the quality in person, and the picture online (which unfortunately doesn't zoom, so you don't get a better idea of its texture and colors). It's actually gorgeous, and I wish I had the right color scheme so that I could get it!

pier 1 has a white slipper chair for $160, which would leave room in the budget for a slipcover or diy re-upholstering.

I have a really similar chair from Target and the quality is pretty decent. I mean, you get what you pay for to some extent, but, based on the quality, I would have been willing to pay probably another $150 or so for it, so I feel like it was a good deal. There's always the Ikea route, too. Bemz makes covers designed specifically for Ikea chairs and they have lots of great prints. Of course, that ups the price since you have to get the chair and the cover, but it's still not too expensive.
