The house that inspired the Amityville Horror movie is back on the market again for $850,000. The five-bedroom, four-bath Dutch Colonial in Amityville, NY, was last sold for $950,000 in October 2010. The home is associated with the murders of six family members in 1974 — which the killer claimed voices in the house told him to commit. Another family moved in a year later only to leave after 28 days after allegedly being haunted by paranormal beings. The home, however, has gone through multiple homeowners since without incident, and a look at the photos shows a less frightening scene.

The spacious mansion is surrounded by lush scrubs and greenery. The house, with a backyard that can only be described as a private oasis, peacefully overlooks the Amityville River. With amenities such as a fireplace, sunroom, and security system, it boasts everything a family could want. For those who can get past the bloody history, this 3,600-square-foot space will attract any history or horror-movie buff to the property. Read on to take in photos of the house from all angles.
