I thought I'd share with you the before and after of an antique settee I recently restored. When I found this settee, the webbing was completely shot and the fabric was outdated. But I am drawn to the shape of the frame. It's very interesting and I saw potential in it. So I decided to scoop it up and give it a new life.
To see the restored settee, continue reading.
I am a textile designer and I decided to restore this settee using one of my organic prints for the front and a matching solid in eggplant color for the back. The fabric is a upholstery-weight, certified organic cotton, 12oz. The fabric collection can be viewed here. The frame was re-lacquered in high-gloss black and new webbing was installed. Double-welt was added throughout for a professional finishing touch. Hope you enjoy the result! Thanks, Nina
