Before and After: Elle 10's DIY Kitchen Renovation

We loved the bones of the house, but clearly it needed some updates. Over the course of two months, we knocked down two of the walls in the kitchen and moved the plumbing. In fact, we did everything ourselves except new electrical wiring to bring things up to code. We kept the same cabinets, just sanded and repainted them. The ones on the right side now used to be at the far end of the kitchen. We extended the bathroom on the other side of the end wall as the kitchen had plenty of space to work with. I love the gray, magnetic, chalkboard wall and absolutely love the new pass-through and countertop! The floor is in good shape, so we left it for now. Changing that is next on the list!

It looks so much brighter. I love the pass through too, I have been thinking of doing something similar in my kitchen and it helps to visualize that better now.

I love it! The opening to the next room really makes the room! And I love the chalkboard wall!

WOW!!!!! This looks great! How hard was it to paint the cabinets, we are thinking of doing the same? Also, which chalkboard paint did you use? I have sanded and prepped a wall in my kitchen for chalkboard and I think it might be the same color! Your kitchen is truly impressive and you did it all on your own even more impressive!
