Before and After: A Thrift Shop Stool

This little stool was unearthed at a Jacksonville, FL thrift store and purchased for under $5. As you can see, its upholstery was not only in terrible shape, but quite dated, and the stool's wood frame was also badly damaged. It was simply begging for a little paint, fabric, and a DIY weekend! Want to see how it was transformed?

Who would of thought that ugly old stool could look so cute!? I love the bold choice of bright chartreuse and the graphic light blue seat fabric.

Have you done any before and after projects lately? Be sure to post photos and tales to our Su Casa group!

Green is not my favorite color but I love this!! The green, blue and purple is totally unexpected and very pretty. I love going to thrift stores but I usually come out with books or picture frames. I never see furniture I like, but I haven't given up. I really need a small ottoman.

Thrift stores can be a goldmine for these! You can usually just take the fabric off and recover the foam or seat. If it's damaged, you'd want to cover a small piece of plywood with new foam and your fabric.

I love the colors she chose. That green with the purple artwork is so creative.

oh wow, how did you do that? Seriously- do you just take the old fabric off and put the new on, or do you have to put new foam in too? love posts like these ^^
