While exploring the exciting pop-up route at Elle Decoration's Inside Design Amsterdam event last week, I was introduced to dozens of Dutch artists, designers, and architects, and had the opportunity to see their latest work in the flesh. While most of the participants showcasing work were in temporary units scattered around Amsterdam's Ijburg neighborhood, I was lucky enough to discover one of the hood's permanent — and well-sought-out — showrooms, Brunklaus Amsterdam.
Founded 20 years ago by Nicoletta Brunklaus, the showroom brings to life the dream-like quality of her unique line. By manipulating her own photographs and printing them on fabrics, furniture, and ceramics, she forms an end result that feels nostalgic yet sharply contemporary. After greeting me enthusiastically with a homemade cupcake and an infectious smile, Nicoletta lead me through her stunning showroom. Keep reading to see which pieces caught my eye and lens!
