You'd be surprised and appalled by the amount of hidden filth lurking in hotel rooms, from the comforter to the TV remote, but nothing tops the gross factor of a visiting couple's New York hotel room. Theirs is quite possibly the worst traveling experience ever. Not only does the couple say that their room at the Astor on the Park Hotel on the Upper West Side of Manhattan had a broken heater and half-working electrical plugs, but they also claim the bed was completely infested with bugs. Elgin Ozlen, who was staying for his birthday, noticed rashes on his girlfriend's arms, side, and stomach. What he discovered when flipping the mattress over was a breeding ground for insects "the size of your pinky nail." In the video, above, Elgin even takes a pen to poke the pile of bedbugs to show they're alive and well and had been living beneath them as they slept.
Talk about a real-life American Horror Story: Hotel. In case you were still interested in staying a night at the Astor, be sure to stay away from room 509.
