Creativity Explored Offers Cool Art For a Cause

Last week, I finally had the chance to experience San Francisco's Creativity Explored in the flesh. In addition to being a treasure trove filled with dynamic yet astonishingly affordable contemporary art, this non-profit gallery and organization has a truly inspiring mission. Creativity Explored nurtures a talented community of artists with developmental disabilities, providing one-on-one instruction from mentoring artists, quality art materials, and professional opportunities to exhibit their work. For nearly 30 years now, Creativity Explored has given hundreds of artists the opportunity to earn an income by doing what they love.

The Main studio and gallery, located in San Francisco's Mission neighborhood, is filled with an overwhelming amount of beautiful pieces. You could easily spend a day just sifting through the stacks of drawings, shelves of pottery, piles of textiles, and more. If you're lucky enough to be able to pop in during the 8:30-2:30 PM studio hours, you'll even get to see the artists at work. But if you can't get to the San Francisco location though, not to worry! Creativity Explored has an e-commerce website, making it easy to browse and shop the latest pieces, wherever you are.

A national retail brand known for selling modern home decor products has even partnered with Creativity Explored to translate some of their artists' work into really chic home decor products. Can you guess which brand? Keep reading for the answer as well as a peek at some of my favorite pieces from the collaborative collection!

Part of the success of Creativity Explored can also be attributed to their amazing partners, like CB2. Since 2009, the brand has worked with Creativity Explored to create over 11 CB2 home decor product lines, including four decorative pillows, two rugs, two tote bags, and a holiday ornament.

I fell for this CB2 rug displayed at Creativity Explored!
