Casa Quickie: Cool Summer Sleeping

Finding it hard to sleep on these hot August nights? To keep cool in a house without air conditioning, try this trick. Pop your pillow in a plastic bag, then stick it in your freezer. (A chest freezer offers the most room, and keeps your pillow from getting squished.) Then right before you go to bed, pull it out. You'll have a cool night of Summer sleep. Source

lolalu, since the pillow doesn't contain any water, and since the pillow is a porous surface, no liquid would accumulate. i used to do this as a young child with my blanket, and it was so great. maybe i'll do it tonight.

Wouldn't the pillow be hard as a rock though? And what about condensation, wouldn't it get all wet?

My bedroom is always too hot during the summer. I usually sleep on my side with a pillow between my knees - this would be perfect, I bet.

Well, I never thought of that one. But then again I have never lived without my air conditioning. Thank God :)

I think that would be a little too cold for my head, especially since I have air conditioning. I do like a cold pillow though.
