Casa Quickie: No More Lonely Socks

Are your socks mismatched? Is there a pile of lone socks sitting on top of your dryer? Fret no more. You can keep your socks in pairs by safety pinning or velcro-ing them together before you throw them in the wash. Buy safety pins in bulk and keep them at hand near your washing machine, or attach the velcro to your socks with a couple easy stitches. Life just got a whole lot easier.

I believe if you put velcro on your socks you will end up with a whole bunch of stuff sticking to it and a big mess.

Lingerie washing bags are great for socks. If each person puts their socks in their own bag, they will be cleaned and the bag comes back to them with all of their socks! It works, and if you have a large family or similar looking socks like we do, helps to keep things separated. You can put each person's name on the bags with a permanent marker.

Great idea, but I don't think I would do it. Only if there was a pair of socks that I REALLY loved. :P

well, I imagine that if you are the sort of person to take the time to sort thru your dirty laundry for dirty socks you probably don't ever have any missing anyway :o)!!! I think (for my family at least) that the missing socks do not go missing in the laundry room, the socks become separated in their bedrooms or where ever they have taken them off and thrown them.

I never lose my socks actually! If I was, I probably wouldn't care too much anyway, they're just socks!

Wouldn't this lead to holes in socks - I'm fine with missing a random sock every so often.

There is no way that I am touching my husband's and son's nasty socks long enough to pin them together before washing...and sewing velcro on socks...who in the heck has time to do that!

Hahaha I don't care about my socks THAT much. Usualyl when i have an extra one after I do the landry, i throw it back in the hamper, I mean the other is bound to show up at SOME time, right?! I give it a month, and if it doesn't show, I chuck :)

My dad does this. I avoid this problem just by buying 2 weeks worth of the same white sock. I only have a few pairs of colorful socks and makes it very easy to match them as a result.
