The next day, we rode a bus to Greensboro, NC. During our trip, we were given boxes filled with fabric and ribbon samples, catalog product imagery, and shelter magazine interior design inspiration. Together, Katy and I created this inspiration board, which would become the basis for our design.
At first, I didn't really believe in the process because I knew the furniture and fabrics on our inspiration board wouldn't necessarily be available to us to use. But as we worked together, I realized that it was helping the two of us understand each other's design aesthetic and to identify a color palette (green and orange) that spoke to both of us.
