Changing Colors

Since I didn't get around to painting the foyer during Dress Your Walls month, I thought that it would be equally appropriate to change its color for Renewal month. The original color, painted by the previous owners, was a weird pale-peach color that seemed like an insane choice for any room. I replaced the color with a mossy green in a semigloss, which makes for easier clean up in high-traffic areas. I especially love the variation between the goldenrod color of the living room and the moss green of the foyer.

Is anyone else painting their walls this month?

Yes! We recently renovated our livingroom and hallway, nothing fancy in either area as far as color goes but we did redo the floors and went with a natural wax oil finish on them, so they are a nice light honey color. Soon we will redo the office and paint that in light green.

I'm still in the process of painting my kitchen. it's the color of a bell pepper, with red accents, and cream colored cabinets. Problem, for me, is that I'm doing it by myself, and I've torn my rotator cuff in two places, so painting is a direct NO NO from my doctor until after my surgery. AUUUUGHHHHH.

Yes!! We took down wallpaper YUCK! in our breakfast area, and painted that the "stone brown" to match our family room that it adjoins. In addition, last week we also painted the study a warm "safari" - it is a yellow-ish khaki! Loved that so much that I think we will use it elsewhere in house! Am also refinishing kid's "jack and jill" bath areas in a lighter tone of the safari. It is pretty neutral, but since I have a boy and a girl, and they share the middle part of the bath I needed something for both! LOVE the huge effect that new paint has, on a small budget!

I'm in the middle of paint most of the inside of our house, everything but the 2 guest rooms. A light blue for the master and pale yellow with dark green ascents downstairs. the house hasn't been painted sceence my hubby moved in, in 2001.

We also *just* painted over a peach hallway-it was a pain to cover up! We also changed our terracotta wall to warm brown and are waiting for new baseboard heaters before we paint the rest of the apartment a caramel/chocolate colour.

looks like you chose your colors well - those two do look great together! i am not painting this month since i am renting, but i like the cream color of the walls next to the stark white wainscotting and trim. there are also black highlights in the baseboards and countertops in the kitchen. i like the colors that came with the place!

Yes, Casa! I'm in the process of painting my upstairs bathroom a very pale celadon green. I bought a gorgeous Martha Stewart shower curtain that I used to plan my color scheme. Next, I'll be repainting my living room...
