Designed by Cecilie Manz in 2005, the Caravaggio Pendant ($775) is a beautifully restrained, modern light fixture. With elegant curves, smooth, hi-gloss paint, and an industrial steel suspension and aluminum shade, it balances femininity and masculinity in a versatile, timeless way. I can think of a handful of places in my home where I'd love to hang it. But unfortunately, at that price point, it's not a purchase I'll be making any time soon.

Made of polycarbonate rather than aluminum, the Ikea Melodi Pendant ($13) is deliciously cheaper. But its shape is the spitting image of Manz's design! Good find, right?
