Love It or Hate It? Mini-Gallery Lamp

Stockholm-based Asian-Scandinavian design firm Chen Karlsson debuted this new lamp and mini-gallery, Favorite Things, at the Stockholm Furniture Fair. It's meant to allow you to exhibit little knickknacks and things you like in your home. I certainly dig the design of the lamp even without items displayed in it. But, I think the success of the lamp otherwise is based upon what you put in it. The little items here are too kitschy for my tastes, but I imagine someone could pull it off with other petite possessions. What do you think?

I suppose it would be great if you lived in a gallery. But who would want to look at knick knacks hanging from the ceiling in a living room or bedroom?
