Colored Tree Lights or White Lights?

I'm a staunch supporter of using white lights on my holiday tree, and on indoor holiday trees in general. They're classy and elegant, rather than kitschy and retro. But, I don't mind colored lights on outdoor, public trees. With the right ornaments and other décor, they can be quite charming. Either way, LED lights are the way to go. What about you? Where do you fall on the color wheel?

White!! Definetly more elegant. I cant stand those pink lights on the multi colored strands on the tree. Not at all traditional. The exception to my predjudice, are the bubble lights. They give movement to the tree and are an interesting focal point.

I love the classic look of one color. Like all white, or all blue, etc.

I love multi-colored lights...reminds me of home and my childhood, and really, isn't that what Christmas is REALLY about? What? Baby Jesus? Alright, him too...but mostly it's about children and I choose to include my inner-child and she likes tacky colored lights dammit!

I love colored monochromatic lights. My parents have a white tree w/ blue lights and blue & silver bulbs and garland! It is so very beautiful! :)

I prefer colored lights. White lights are more elegant and if I were going for a fancier look I'd definitely use those. I prefer a more laid-back and casual family style look.

growing up, my mom adored christmas, so we had 4 trees! 3 of them had white lights, but the "kids" tree in the playroom had the old school big colored lights and read shiny beads. The other three trees were much more elegant. Our main tree was in the kitchen/family room, we had a tabletop "nature" tree in our library decorated with animal, gardening, flower etc. ornaments. And our tree in the living room was perfect looking and boring!!! I used to call it the "bloomingdales" tree since it looked like it sohuld be in the department store. It was decorated with peach, cream and gold ornaments. Anyway, bottom line...i do prefer white lights, and definite white outside.

I think the only colored lights that are non-ugly are the big glass string lights from the 60's. Those little ones are badly colored, the "red" is pink- ONLY appropriate for easter and dorm rooms.

I like white, but hubby likes colors. Since he caved on getting a fake tree I at least let him get one with his ugly colored lights on it.

When I was a kid, nobody used white lights. I am old, and therefore, retro :-)

On a Christmas tree, white lights are so classy and elegant. But I'm a sucker for those tacky colored lights you see on people's rooftops and houses outdoors!
