Crave Worthy: Fong Recycled Chopsticks Lamp

Just the other day, I was struck by how wasteful it is to use chopsticks; for some reason, I had never thought about it before. So it's serendipitous that I just stumbled upon these Recycled Chopsticks Lamps ($42 to $46) on Apartment Therapy Green.

The line of nine lamps, including the dark-stained Fong Lamp (left), use post-consumer bamboo chopsticks to cast a unique glow. These lamps would look great not only in Asian-inspired decor but also in modern rooms. To see all nine lamps,

you could use chopsticks from take out or whatever that you get and make your own - just use your own utensils for the food and save the wooden chopsticks! this wouldn't be wasteful as you'd be throwing the chopsticks out otherwise!

I don't understand why using chopsticks are wasteful. Plastic utensils are wasteful. But why chopsticks? You're not hurting the environment by using them...

My kids made something just like this for me a couple years ago at a library craft hour. Had I thought to sell them for $42 to $46 dollars, my kids would have their college fund pretty much set by now.
