Rue magazine and HGTV recently teamed up to host a party during Atlanta's Lavish lifestyle blogging conference, and to no surprise, the entrepreneurial team whipped up decor that was not eye-catching but thrifty! To give the event space (the Bradford Gallery) the Rue touch, executive editor Anne Sage and stylist Christina Loucks Ahumada of Anora Grey created a hanging ornament and branch installation. Sage says she was inspired by "the spare, spartan beauty of bare Winter branches and our extremely small budget — we spent around $200 for the whole installation!"

Anne kindly offered instructions to re-create this rustic, glam decoration:
"We scrounged the woods around Atlanta for long, sturdy branches — Christina found several in her own backyard! The branches were suspended from the ceiling using sturdy floral ribbon in our color of choice: a transparent white. We then decorated them with a mix of gold holiday balls and white tissue pom poms, constructed by hand using these instructions, and used clear filament line to hang the baubles. Although we selected whites and golds for their modern, festive feel, any color palette would work brilliantly for this application! Balls and tissue were purchased at Michael's Crafts and Target."
