Milk crates tend to remind me of college dorm rooms. I remember seeing dozens of rooms that featured bookshelves made from milk crates (turned on their sides to maximize storage potential) and rough hewn pieces of lumber. It wasn't the most sophisticated decorating arrangement, by any stretch of the imagination. This platform bed, built by Extreme Makeover: Home Edition For the Oregon School For the Deaf, on the other hand, is pretty design forward. However, I'm conflicted as to whether the crates add a fun, kid-friendly punch to the room, or just end up distracting me from its other, more handsome elements. Would you ever decorate with milk crates at your home, even if it's just in a kid's room?
