I agree with all of these "made to be broken rules". Breaking the rules makes for much more creative decorating. The one thing I have tried, but just not been able to live with is mixing metals. I can "kind of" do chrome or silver with light gold, but with brass, pewter, bronze or gunmetal, the difference jumps out at me and says, "No!"
