DiggersList.com Expands to National Coverage

DiggersList Makes Finding DIY Deals a Snap With New National Coverage

If you're a DIYer, chances are you've spent a fair amount of time combing through Craigslist's seemingly endless list of items. And while I love the site, those of us looking for a more streamlined approach can save time spent online by using DiggersList. Starting today, the website is expanding to nationwide coverage. This means that any US homeowner looking can buy, sell, or donate home improvement material.

“We’ve received a flood of requests, all over the country, to open up new cities. So we have decided to fast-forward our plans and bring DiggersList to the entire country ahead of schedule,” said Matt Knox, CEO and cofounder of DiggersList, explaining the new expansion.

The redesigned DiggersList uses geo-locating technology, such as that found on your iPhone, to determine a visitor's location and show them discounted home improvement items available in their area. Add to this the site's growing national relationship with Habitat for Humanity ReStores — discount home improvement stores that sell donated items to fund the nonprofit’s philanthropic home-building mission — and DIY home renovators can rest assured they're getting a deal they can feel good about.

I found FSC-certified canary wood flooring (seen in the stair photo) on the site for a discounted price, and am now wondering how it would look in a storage space we're looking to renovate in our home. The site is chock-full of other great items, too, from dining tables to gardening supplies. Want to look for or post an item on DiggersList? It's a free and quick process. Try it out here.

Has anyone used DiggersList? I'm curious whether it's easier to manage than Craigslist. I guess you still have to find a time to meet and come to an agreement on price, etc. But it's great that it's so focused on home improvement supplies.
