Do You Have a Dutch Door?

Dutch doors were originally created to keep animals out of farmhouses, while letting light and air flow in. Also called a stable door, or half door, they're marked by a horizontal division that allows the bottom half of the door to remain shut while the top half remains open.

No, we have screen doors so we can leave the whole door open, but I have always thought these were cool. Just reminded me of the friends episode where Joey cut Chandler's door in half! Ha.

I looooove dutch doors. I'm hoping to replace two of our exterior doors with them within the next year or so. Great for keeping an eye on the dogs.
