Do You Have Enough Storage Space?

Although I can physically fit all of my "stuff" in my home, I do sometimes wish I had more space so I wouldn't have to rummage and hunt for it all. Do you have this problem? Do you have things stored in an attic or basement that you wish were more accessible?

I don't have enough storage space because I have soo much crap! As soon as I get things organized, put away, and neat... I get more stuff. Typical woman, I guess.

We just purchased a new house. Before selling our current house we had to rent a storage unit so buyers wouldn't see how we're busting at the seams. After filling the storage unit in under a week, my husband had to rent a larger storage unit and move everything to it.Wasn't it Ellen Degeneres who said your house is a place to house all your stuff till you have too much stuff and have to get a bigger house so you can get more stuff?

I recently moved from a 3 bedroom 2.5 bath townhouse to a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment. I'm living in about 700 square feet. When I first moved in, I freaked out about the lack of storage. However, a girlfriend gave me a great suggestion! Use the tops of the cabinets in the kitchen! So, now I have great baskets up there that hold extra decor and my photo albums that I'm not looking at. Also, she suggested to put boxes under the coffee table. That holds all of my knitting/crocheting supplies. There are decorative baskets in my coat closet that hold junk as well as an old dresser tucked into my clothes closet that holds all of my extra blankets. Also in my clothes closet, I bought more boxes to store even more things! I now have a ton of storage and nothing to put into it! And, the best thing is that I didn't spend a lot of money on all of it! I shopped around in some home/garden warehouse places like Gardenridge and Old Time Pottery and found really nice things! :) I love my apartment!

right now i'm in desperate need of more closet and other storage space. i make it work, but i feel i have just put stuff away or purge to make it manageable. we moved about 6 months ago and some books, dvds, etc are still in boxes in the closet waiting to be shelved (but we need a shelf/bookcase!)i know it will take some time. also, the way my new closet is set up is that it's narrow and deep, so i have to rotate seasons. i really need some sort of system in there. and a towel shelf/closet would be good. clean ones are currently stored in a basket on the couch. hello california closets- i'd make a great before and after example...? i should write in to <insert HGTV show here> for some help. ok, i'm being dramatic. sigh, i'd love a walk-in...

I definitely don't have enough storage space, but at the moment that seems like more of a good thing than a bad thing, as it is prompting me to declutter and get rid of the clothes I don't wear. Still... I wish I had someplace to store the mop and broom that wasn't in the bathroom/ kitchen (in full view), and I wish there was a way that I could keep the cat litter out of sight without having it in the same space as my unopened non-perishables and coats(in the toss up between having the litter there or in my bedroom though... that closet won). I also have a file box where I file all of my paid bills/ refunds/ warranties etc, and I find that I use it less because it is hard to access when stored under my bed.

I can't even imagine what I would fill my house up with. I don't like knick-knacks, or anything that serves no purpose. All of my clothes fit neatly into drawers and closets, I have built in shoe storage like the closet above, and I don't keep junk. I swear, I could fit everything I own into the trunk of my car, save furniture, obvi.

No not at all, I was actually looking at my closet this morning and thinking that even though I cleaned it 2 weeks ago, but shoes are just taking over the whole closet. I really need more shoe space.

*sigh* that closet makes me drool! I'd LOVE to have a closet 1) that big and 2) that organized! I'm lucky enough to have a pretty nice walk in closet, but it's just rods.. no shelves. If I could afford to design my closet, it would look like this. Except I'd have more shelving for more shoes!

Since moving into the apartment form the house, I'm hurting for storage. I have room for everyday things, but its keepsakes and stuff I don't use, but don't want to throw out I have a problem with.
