Do You Have a Kitchen Island?

Kitchen islands can provide additional workspace and seating to your kitchen. They're also a great place for family and friends to congregate. While my kitchen is too small to accommodate an island, I totally crave one.

I do and I hate it. I was just looking at it earlier and I relaized that if it was closer to the kitchen and not smack in the middle between the LR and the Kitchen it would be more functional and give me more room to work with in my LR

Don't have one, and I'm OK with that.

Had one, took it out. It blocked off the kitchen area from the dining area. Replaced it with a table that seats 10, and hoping to eventually to find a good cheap one that will seat 14.

Yes, but I DON'T love it. It's just a tiny square and my ktichen is far too small for an island...I have no idea what they were thinking when they built this house.

I don't, but I REALLY wish I did. It's like the social area of the kitchen. You can sit and chat with someone cooking, or you can spread out and have a group cooking, or you can just sit by the coffee machine and chat. It's great for quick meals, or informal ones, and for laying out cooling cookies or chex mix. I can't wait until I have a big enough kitchen for an island or at the very least a bar area with chairs.
