Do You Have Wood Paneling?

Unless it is painted, I usually find wood paneling too dark and rustic for my taste, and sometimes it just looks too dated. But in Fall and Winter, it has a cozy effect that I enjoy, especially if there is a fire roaring nearby. Do you have wood paneling?

Yes, we have white painted wood paneling in our foyer. Our ceilings are also all white painted wood paneling. It's pretty typical for Scandinavia though.

I do. It's real wood with a natural finish. Truthfully, I didn't like wood paneling until we saw our house. It does look dated (in a good way, in my opinion). The wood paneling was done well, and it's an authentic retro element. I deliberately furnished our residence in retro mod to align with the existing interior. I love it.

We did at my old house...it was actually done contemporary in the main living space--kitchen etc...on a diagonal..which is odd. I don't mind the antique, reclaimed, usually painted (white) but don't like the outdated look, and couldn't stand it in our kitchen but it worked (it was ceiling, skylight, etc but it went with the house and was one of the only things my parents didn't change.

We have several types of wood paneling. Apparently the people who built our house (I think one was "Tim The Toolman Taylor") thought "Wood is good." Didn't matter to them if it was the same kind of wood, same color. So much wood. Too much. I'm painting one of these days.
