Do You Store Books in Your Bedroom?

In many homes I visit, books are displayed in the living room or other public spaces for guests to peruse, and many living rooms have built-in bookcases. But, seeing as I usually read curled up in bed, it makes sense to keep an unread collection of books in the bedroom.

I always have a stack of about 3-4 books next to my bed, but other than that I need my bedroom clutterfree.

Phil- i quite like that! It's a bit childish with the 'house style' but I actually think it would be good in a studio apartment. In our open plan office at work we use book shelves to divide space up - very effective.

Just a few books.

I do both. I keep my own personal stash in my room ... but I have a bookcase in my living room to encourage people to peruse my more eclectic collection whenever they come over.

Yes, keep many books in my bedroom, particularly editions of high value that I'd rather not have people browsing. I don't have a room devoted to study, and there's far too much activity in the living room for me to feel comfortable storing my books in. If I lived in a studio apartment, I'd take advantage of this: http://www.inhabitots.com/2009/07/01/uroko-book-igloo-is-a-book-lovers-dream-bed/

I keep my just-read, still-reading, and about-to-read books in my bedroom, but the bulk of my collection is shelved in the living room and rec room.

i recently just cleared out a ton of books which were on my shelves and put them in a cupboard under the stairs which has a glass front. it's amazing how much dust books up on a shelf can collect. i still have a pile of my beatrix potter small books decoratively placed on a shelf.... and a couple of prettier books. there was a post about penguin classics: http://www.casasugar.com/3007420 these i'd keep on display in my bedroom- so pretty! though i'm not one to judge a book my it's cover :)
