Edgar Allen Poe Halloween Tablescape

Halloween Tablescape Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe

Here's a post from CasaSugar Community member CourtneyOutLoud from the Lovely Little Vignettes group:

I have never been a big Halloween fan. It was a filler holiday between Labor Day and Thanksgiving. It was only good for discounted Reese Cups and the occasional embarrassing Facebook photo of coworkers in inappropriate costumes. In a nutshell, it wasn't my thing. However, this year I told myself to stop being such a stick in the mud and have some fun. So I tore myself away from eating yet another peanut butter cup and brainstormed a Halloween table that was inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's poem "The Raven."

I stayed away from the traditional color scheme of orange and black, swapping out the orange for white and grey. In return, I got a tablescape that is more haunting than haunted house. Masculine elements like cut glass goblets and heavy flatware play off the feminine frill of the plates and centerpiece while liberal use of feathers tie the whole thing together. So while I may have "put a bird on it," I think the overall tablescape is a Gothic tribute to a holiday I am starting to enjoy......

Keep reading for more images of this cool Halloween table!

I am really happy with how the table turned out! So happy in fact that I think I am going to treat myself to a peanut butter cup......
