Just last Fall, Elle Décor presented its first showhouse in San Francisco. This May, the mag switches coasts for its second showhouse, which will be held in +aRt, a new condo development at 540 West 28th Street in Manhattan.
Known as the Modern Life Concept House, the new showhouse will feature 10 designers from the magazine's A-list “Designers to Watch." These designers will partner with companies to create both indoor and outdoor spaces that reflect their vision of fresh contemporary design.
In a press release, editor-in-chief Michael Boodro notes, "New York, the greatest city in the world, is the ideal backdrop for Elle Décor's first concept house. We’re delighted to bring together a group of young designers we believe in with some of today’s best brands, to realize our house of the immediate future.”
The Modern Concept House will be open to the public May 20, 21, and 22; May 27, 28, 29, and 30; and June 3, 4, and 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $30, and proceeds will benefit Housing Works, a nonprofit working toward the goal of eliminating AIDS and homelessness.
