Designer Emma Gardner has been creating striking, vibrant rugs for the past nine years, after transitioning from her first career as an editor and illustrator. Now, she's branched out to a complete line of home items, Emma at Home, which you can find at 2Modern.
There are many lovely components in Emma Gardner's new home line, including her giclee prints, which feature both matryoshka and more abstract images. Born in Kyoto, Japan, to an English father and Russian-American mother, Emma's designs are imbued with Asian themes, modern art, and natural forms. Now, this first collection of reproductions of Emma Gardner's original acrylic paintings, which were first shown during Art Basel Miami 2010, are available in a limited edition series of 125 giclees, printed to order on stretched canvas. Each piece is numbered, authenticated, and available for immediate delivery.
Emma Gardner's designs have appeared in leading design and fashion magazines, including Elle Décor, House Beautiful, Interior Design, Better Homes & Gardens, Traditional Home, and Dwell. And while some of her items, such as the gorgeous wool rugs, are out of many homeowners' budgets, the line of giclee prints start at around $200.
One of my favorite glicees is the Matryoshka Tiny Face Glicee ($190, middle row, left). The teal background is a lovely contrast to the matryoshka's face. Did another print catch your eye? Just click on it to learn more!
