I just came across the work of Australian multimedia artist Emma Hack and am beyond impressed! Against a background of gorgeous wallpapers by Florence Broadhurst, Emma has painstakingly painted the bodies of noted (and beautiful) Aussies, camouflaging them into lush backgrounds. Each illustration takes anywhere from eight to 14 hours straight to paint, depending on the complexity of the design. When complete, Emma, also a photographer, shoots the models against the lush wallpapers, creating the illusion of a flat surface. Her work has been exhibited at a range of galleries Down Under, currently including Frances Keevil Gallery.
