Even a dude wants to look at something pretty and frilly every once in a great while...
This cocktail table sits between the two chairs in my living room. I wanted to create a vignette that was glamorous and decidedly feminine. Why? Just because I felt the urge to see something girly and pretty. As I said, even dudes sometimes like to get in touch with their feminine sides.
I used spray roses for the bouquet, which was placed in a West Elm vase (which looks suspiciously like an Jonathan Adler vase, but then that's why I bought it!). The rest of the vignette was created with a book to add height, a piece of sliced watermelon granite on a plate stand, a rock from vacation, and an Anthropologie salt-n-pepper shaker. Yup, the horse figurine is actually a salt-n-pepper shaker which is one of my little "styling" secrets. You can normally find adorable and whimsical shakers at a fraction of the cost of a figurine. No one knows the difference and it's a great way to add a jolt of character into a vignette.
