Before and After: An Elegant Update For a Drab Fireplace

San Francisco interior design firm Niche Interiors recently tackled a fireplace demolition project for a client. Niche Interiors founder Jennifer Jones wanted to add some elegance to this orange and brown eyesore of a fireplace.

Want to know how she did it? Keep reading to see how she improved this drab fireplace.

Jennifer explains, "The fireplace demolition was relatively simple. We removed the old tile, framed out a new fireplace, and installed Carrara marble tiles and a vintage mantel found at a local shop. Since there were no gas lines or venting to worry about the job was more straightforward. Candles create a nice mood in the place of an actual fire." What an improvement! I love how the new, muted colors in the marble add so much elegance to the space. Have you renovated a fireplace in your home? How complicated was the project, and were you satisfied with the results?

Very pretty. I love the marble and the depth of the new fireplace really makes it a focal point.
