This Hugging Couch Feels So Alive You Might Mistake It For Your Mother or Lover

After a long, potentially stressful day, we can't imagine anything better than melting into the softest sofa — especially if that sofa happens to also give out hugs. South Korean designer Lee Eun Kyoung created the Free Hug Sofa that's since gone viral due to its obvious ingenuity.

While most recliners and sofa chairs have sturdier arms, the Free Hug Sofa has giant, floppy arms that are malleable enough to hug and pretty much envelop anyone who sits on it. Kyoung's couch is so beloved that it actually received the Bronze A' Design Award in 2015 — a prestigious annual award that recognizes exceptional furniture design and decor items. Upon receiving the award, Kyoung described the motive behind his comfy couch. He said, "Because the sofa gives the feeling of being alive, it will hold you warm and soft like your mother, friend, and a lover without feeling lonely."

The Free Hug Sofa comes in red, white, and gray. Look ahead for more photos of the sofa. Disclaimer: they may cause drowsiness.
