Get the Look: Scientific Interiors

Whether you're a doctor or biologist by trade or just have a sideline obsession with all things scientific, there's definitely a place for adding scientific touches to your home. I love the look of antique high-school biology charts myself, and have used them for wall décor in the past. I also have friends that can't get enough of the stark, streamlined looks of medical office lights.

It would be so funny to eat brains on a brain plate. I love beakers and test tubes in the home.

I'm the same as Julie (but I'm a Microbiologist :) )...I love to incorporate glassware into my home. I have a few flasks (just like the one in the picture) that I use as vases.

I'm a chemist, which naturally makes me a little nerdy, and I LOVE science influenced things for the home. You'd think I'd get sick of test tubes and beakers, but I think it's so much fun to take something practical and turn it into art. I have a fabulous spice rack at home that consists of test tubes in a test tube rack, and I am contemplating sneaking home a flask to use as a vase the next time we get in a new shipment of glassware. However, I'm engaged to a doctor, and he hates having to think about anything science/medical related when he's not in the hospital, so he does not appreciate my love for incorporating chemistry into our home.

Oooh! I love science. Here are some more science inspired decorating pieces: Chemistry Flask Light: http://teamsugar.com/user/katedavis/casacravings/983555 This slide light reminds me of an x-ray light box: http://teamsugar.com/user/katedavis/casacravings/983557 Clio-home.com sells chemistry beakers and flasks that are etched with flowers, but they don't have them on their website. :( I'm not exactly into DNA art but it's out there and it's definitely science related: http://teamsugar.com/user/katedavis/casacravings/983556
