Personally, I loved Domino because it's style spoke to me as a younger person with a little bit of a quirky sense of style. HOWEVER, working in advertising I understand them having to fold. Domino almost NEVER made it onto our buys because they're so friggin expensive compared to some of the other shelter pubs. It does really sucks that Conde Nast never bothered to make this mag more competitive for rate so it would be more attractive to more advertisers.

Domino used to be really awesome when it first started. I found it through Lucky Mag, which also used to be really awesome. USED TO. Now I look at both of them and I don't see any of the cover stories actually in the magazine. A lot of the content and ideas are very situation-specific [if you have a nook in THIS PARTICULAR FASHION, then you can use this method!], and does not feature enough items for those of us without a celebrity budget. While I'm a bit sad about it going [and I stopped reading almost a year ago!], I'm not surprised. I also wouldn't be surprised if Lucky's next.

They featured too much taxidermy and pelts for me. I love their magazine overall, but every other page I'd feel a pang of sadness/aggravation. I canceled my subscription.

I realize i will likely be in the minority but I was constantly disappointed by Domino. The covers were always deceiving, in fact once i bought the mag for the cover story and that cover story was NOT IN the magazine. The looks they showed each month were always the same and never showed a range of styles or environments. I am not surprised that this magazine failed.
