However, they didn't stop there. Updating the house involved a few bolder paint choices, along with an incredibly ambitious handpainted wall. Inspired by Ferm's branch wallpaper, Capree decided to try to re-create the pattern by hand!
See the finished wall, and hear what Capree has to say about her color choices in the home when you read more.
You can read about the entire DIY on Capree's blog, but suffice it to say, this was an immense undertaking! I'm in awe of this clever homeowner's determination. Plus, she pulled off this DIY beautifully. It looks absolutely perfect.
Capree writes, "I love bright, bold colors and patterns in the home and am not afraid to take a few risks! We have an accent wall on one side of the living/dining room that's painted in a bright green, which is offset by the black and white branch wall. I love how the two play off each other as well as help create a sense of architecture in an otherwise very bland home. In this way, we've really tried to make it our own. Since the living and dining areas are essentially one space, we went for a unified feel in color scheme and pattern. The 'branch' theme is echoed in the light fixture above the dining table, as well as in the area rug and a decorative screen. We have a lot of glass and chrome in this space, so I feel like these subtle organic elements help take the edge off, so to speak!"
Capree and her husband have a lot more DIY fun planned for their future home, and I can't wait to see what they accomplish next!
