Have You Been Snowed in This Winter?

Snow days were always fun for me as a kid. I loved the unexpected break from schoolwork, as well as the excuse to spend the day sledding or skating around my house.

Granted, snowstorms are definitely more of a problem for adults, who often lose valuable work time or must figure out how to safely get to their jobs during inclement weather. Even if we're tempted to try to make it out of the driveway during a fierce blizzard, it's often best to hunker down and wait out the storm.

There was one weekend last month where we got dumped on... I woke up in the morning and there was a car stuck in the middle of the street in front of my house. The snow had drifted over it. Needless to say I wasn't about to drive anywhere, but work was within a very, very, miserable walking distance.

In SW Idaho we don't get enough to be snowed in, but we got close a couple times when I lived in Denver. I'd like to experience it once, as long as I was prepared! It's true that as adults is not quite as fun and magical as when we were kids. :D

No, thank goodness. I lived in snow for 7 years, and when I moved I vowed not to do it again! Snow is great to visit, but a huge pain to deal with every single winter.

Other. Finns don't get snowed in. We have a snow plowing service and enough shovels for the whole family. Life never stops here because of the weather.

Yes, but only for one day. We had 23 inches of snow, which is a lot for Maryland, but they plowed our street very quickly.

Oh yes...twice! Last month when the big East Coast storm hit on Dec. 19th and DC got 20 inches of it; then just over the New Year in Massachusetts. We also had my under-the-weather sister and my 11-month old niece bouncing off the walls at my parents' house, so we all were housebound for quite a few days!
