Have You Ever Purchased Home Furnishings on eBay?

EBay is a goldmine for unique antique and vintage home décor that you simply can't buy new, and you may have to invest time searching for in thrift stores or flea markets. For instance, the other day I spotted a 1960s Hollywood Regency ornate gold container meant to hold cans of hair spray — of all things! For a less ridiculous option, you simply won't spot a four-tiered tray as chic as this one at Pottery Barn. But before you can have these online auction gems deliver, you have to deal with the hassle of searching, watching, bidding, and waiting. And shipping large furniture pieces is another problem-o.
Tell me, have you ever purchased home décor on eBay? Have you at least window shopped?

Biggest ebay purchase was 6 dining room chairs. Had them shipped across the country. Totally worth it, cheaper than buying same ones from a local dealer.

I do have to say I have bought many a things on eBay for home decor and have been satisfied everytime! I also sell furniture and wedding decorations on eBay and other selling venues. My biggest tip I can give you all is look @ the description of the item. How professional does it look to you?! If someone just slaps an add up and you buy it because it is cheap, then expect poor customer service and problems with your item being damaged and even have more problems trying to return shipping. Dont rely on feedback alone. Google their ebay ID, see where they are @ and how they interact in social media circles. I treat my customers the way I would want to be treated and more. Free shipping, free gift with every purchase, @ least 3 emails during the process of your order, and a super easy return policy that mirrors all high end catalog department store policies. Standard returns can take up to 4 weeks. All in all I hope this helps u all when it comes to purchasing home decor and collectibles on eBay!

Two stories...There was a bedding set that I loved on Pottery Barn that I was waiting to go on sale. When the set did go on sale they only had the pillow covers left. I went on ebay and found the duvet cover for less than the PB sale price. I was so very happy.Second...be careful with etsy.com, there was a 'vintage' jewelry rack I was looking at for $24. I looked for the same piece on ebay and found it for $14. I love both sites but I think I have bought more from ebay.

i'm always so shocked when i read any before&after when people manage to find things on ebay i think you'd have to prepare yourself for disappointment&really check out their returns terms also i'd probably never get anything on ebay that was worth over a certain value saying that - there are some things which i've searched all over for, such as retro advertisement prints or branded paraphernalia&only been able to find them on ebay i'm from the uk&always hear people getting good things on craigslist - is the uk equivalent gumtree?

we actually bought our dining room table/chairs on ebay. they have that fabulous "local pick-up only" option that you can search with and find near your zip code...great steal and the furniture was maybe a 15 minute drive away.
