Back in the Midwest, where most of my family lives, it's been snowing like crazy, and the temperatures have been dipping down to below zero. Energy prices for heating your home are always crazy in the depths of Winter, so it makes sense to try to make your home as energy efficient as possible. One way to save a significant amount of money this Winter is by installing a programmable thermostat. I love watching Ed Begley Jr. I saw his show down with Bill Nye on his show and thought it was hilarious!

They are a great investment! We installed a couple when we bought our home in August. Our power bill shows us each month what the previous owners were spending on electricity the year before using their old fashioned thermostats, and the difference is astounding!
