I just returned from a fabulous, weeklong trip to London and Suffolk hosted by the team from Visit London. One of my favorite activities was a personal tour of Belgravia, one of London's most charming and prestigious neighborhoods. Marked by grand white Regency buildings and tranquil gardens, the district brims with boutiques, restaurants, galleries, and history.
Tucked away on the picturesque, cobblestone Motcomb Street, I visited the showroom of luxury linen specialty shop L&B Fine Linen. Opened five years ago by interior designer Leonora Beaubois, L&B specializes in luxury bedlinens imported from Italy and offers bespoke embroidered monogramming to clients worldwide. The heart of the collection is 100 percent Egyptian cotton and cotton percale, but the range also includes satin and linen bedding, table linens, towels, and robes. Whether it's in the metallic embroidery of a pillowcase or a set of concentric marine blue lace sheets, the designs are undeniably inspired by fashion, no doubt integrating facilely into the homes of Beaubois's clients.
The shop eventually introduced accessories and tableware sourced from France, including pieces by Hermes, Christofle, and Bernardaud, and the showroom is punctuated with understated contemporary accent furniture from high-end European designers. Check out my photos below for a tour. If you're anything like me, you fall for each and every one of the indulgently comfortable items.
