Lighting a Fire at Thanksgiving

Do You Light a Fire at Thanksgiving?

The kitchen is often the room where you can find the majority of my family over Thanksgiving, though there's usually a contingent in the dining room playing cards or telling stories. After dinner, we always light a fire in the fireplace to unwind in postprandial, lazy states. It's always great to dim the lights and watch the fire as we talk, read books, or play board games.

I love a fire, but our fireplace doesn't draw the smoke out. So no fires for us. Someday we hope to get a gas "fake" fire to help us heat the front of our house. Until then, I guess it is just the TV burning log for us.
