Love It or Hate It? Liz Levin Living Room

I think this living room designed by Liz Levin has a lot of interesting elements. Key words: a lot. While I adore that clover-shaped ottoman, the use of topiaries indoors, and the style in general, I think there's just too much going on. Too many colors and furnishings in such a small space detract from the possibility each item offers. What do you think? Am I totally off base here?

Some of it I like and some of it I hate. The striped rug and the blue footstool (I think that is what it's called) are cool. I also like the red chairs a lot. But the bird cage? Why is it just sitting on the floor randomly? I definitely do not like that aspect of the room. And the shrubs are not my style either.

I like the idea, but there is just way too much going on!

Too styled. It's not my style at all.

I have those temple dogs under the mirror (Pier 1) I have a modern red wire menorah that I use as an accent piece. I have a tonne of different colours and shades of colours, shapes, and textures. I too have brightly patterned floor pillows. I have a very similar table lamp and floor lamp. And I also have plants in pots and a white side table. Hah! She totally copied my living room!

There's definitely too much in this room. The floor pillows as well as the cage are totally unnecessary and don't add anything special, in my opinion, although they are special by themselves.

was this in a window, to get the feel of all the pieces and the feel she was going for? or was this REALLY in someones home? i love lots of the pieces here, but more than a couple of gee-wiz items in a room start to feel a little to carnival like.i especially like the tea cart as a bar, and have used one similar to that the same way. also really like the coral colored chairs.

I don't like the colors, but the furniture arrangement is good. Some of the pieces are interesting.

If you can remove some pieces, you'd have a pretty cute room. Stuff I would remove: bird cage (wth???), bright blue figures under mirror, rolling cart with all that junk on there, pillows on the floor, ottoman (maybe replace with a simple, neutral color coffee table), rug (get a muted color rug), and white thing underneath the console table.

i "read" the room as a satire, not as something you'd actually do. it makes me a little nauseous - the symmetry and the almost-matching is disorienting, but the tongue-in-cheek use of traditional elements are what make me think that this room is more of a comment on design than something meant to be implemented in a real room.

I love it and would smile every moment that I was inside!

to me, it feels like outdoors-- the sky blue walls, the topiarys the lack of hanging art, the wire-y things (cart, birdcage, mirror)--mixed with random pieces that don't go together (the wood frame chair is a weird choice...although it does sort of seem like patio furniture, so not weird after all?).my personal preference in my home is usually warmers tones (just feels cozier to me) so that is also probably a large part of why this room doesn't appeal to me.

It's so horrible that I love it. This is different than the Ivanka Trump mess. That room was just terrible and tacky. But this is different. It's just so bad it's good. I would probably rearrange some stuff, but I love the boldness of the arrangement and colors.

I actually like it. But then again, I like lots of different textures and colors in any room [just as long as the colors don't clash!] - it's great for finding plenty of things to talk about!I don't like the darker, more traditional items in the room [the brown chair, the table and mirror combo] though. It should go all the way unique and modern, that mix just looks weird.
