Midday Muse: Appetizing Inspiration

Thanks to Desire to Inspire, I spent way too much time oohing and ahhing over this gallery of restaurant interiors in New York City by photographer Noah Kalina. One of my favorites is this shot of Pardo's in the West Village. The room manages to be both dark and soft, thanks to that milky tea-brown color on the walls. Would you paint a room this shade?

I was looking at colors like this for my apartment. We decided against going so dark because we don't get a lot of natural light in the apartment, and we'd have to paint over it again before we move out. We will probably do a nice green in the kitchen.

my boyfriend's best friend just painted a few walls in his apartment that color. it would be too much for all four walls (i guess it would depend on the size of the room though) but it looks great showcased on just a few walls.

I love brown and used an even darker color in my living room called Dark Roast. It is rather soothing.

I'd love something like this for my bedroom. It's dark but warm and soothing.

I was actually decided between a brown like this and a blue shade for my bedroom. I went with the blue to add a bit of color to my home. I think what makes this color work is the accent lighting in the restaurant.

No, way too dark for my home. I'd need a flash light!

I love this. Actually the new house we're building we've already painted our living room a wine red, goldish ginger, and a "melted chocolate" color. It's so warm !
