Open House: Your Inspiration

Interior design inspiration abounds lately; I've found it everywhere from a runway dress to a young celeb's scarf to a designer window display. Traditionally, though, I've found a lot of inspiration in shelter magazines, design books, museums, and architecture. How about you? Where do you find inspiration for designing your own interiors? luvluvg that's true I have a 3 ring binder with pages from magazines that I've ripped out for various things that I like. could be the room as a whole, could be one piece in the room. I also have ads that appeal to me for inspiration as well. I do read Architectural Digest and then buy the occasional decorating magazine. but your right, what is in my binder you can definitely see a pattern of what I like, an ecclectic pattern but a pattern nonetheless lol.

Blogs is a big one for me right now. If you have the same style as a blogger they do all the work for you in finding all the pictures to inspire both of you. I love it. I also love reading magazines and it doesn't even have to be a shelter magazine because the backgrounds in photos for other magazines usually are really cute too. I've been reading a lot of home design books as well and of course those are really inspiring.

I have a folder on my computer dedicated toward pictures of rooms that I like. It's shown me definite patterns in my sense of style! Outside of that, I of course read CasaSugar, as well as Metropolitan Home magazine.

Most of my inspriation comes from nature, art, and trvel because those are 3 of my favorite things. Or from books that I read, I'll picture something in my head based on a description in a book and go from there.
