Do You Hang Artwork Above Your Bed?

Living in San Francisco, earthquake central, I'm wary to hang artwork above my bed. Anything framed in glass is pretty much out of the question, so a canvas painting or a textile would be a much safer option. I am loving the arrangement of photography on Sally Hershberger's wall in Elle Decor, though — I wish I could recreate this in my home! Then again, I probably couldn't afford the Herb Ritts photograph of the Dalai Lama's hands that she owns in any case.

My fiance and I made an incredible splatter painting that hangs above our bed in lieu of a headboard. We've gotten so many compliments on it!

Yep, San Francisco here too. So I have a big print mounted on black poster board, which looks pretty good - and would do any harm it it fell on me in the middle of the night!

Pretty earthquake free here in NY but no, I'm too paranoid I'd hit the wall in my sleep and send something crashing down. The wall behind the bed is painted red, though, as an accent wall. That pretty much takes care of the decorative aspect.
